Abstract

Planned and systematically prepared activities are needed for the acquisition of motor skills in childhood. The aim of the study was to enable preschool children to perform by doing planned physical activities, to develop their gross motor skills and to increase their awareness, and to increase the awareness of the teacher of the class in the process. The participants of the study consisted of a kindergarten class among the state- affiliated kindergartens. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used as method. Checklists for recording children's motor skills, semi-structured pre- and post-interview forms for the teacher and children, and a 12- week physical activity program were applied. The children were supported in terms of gross motor skills and the children and the teacher gained awareness of the physical activities.
